Any CPU with at least four cores from the last or second-to-last processor generation. To get maximum performance from multi-threaded simulations, we recommend four or more CPU cores. LucidShape simulations make use of multi-threading, and a high number of cores or threads will enhance ray tracing speed; however, the most beneficial feature to take into consideration is a CPU with a very high single-thread frequency (or single-thread performance). If Intel Hyper-Threading Technology is available on your computer, enabling it will further increase multi-threaded simulation performance. |

For the LucidShape CAA V5 Based product, you must have a licensed version of a supported version of CATIA V5, and the CATIA Mechanical Design 2 Configuration (MD2). For the LucidShape CAA V5 Based product, the Design Module, Visualize Module, Light Guide Design Module, and SmartStart Material Library Module for the LucidShape CAA V5 Based product each requires a separate license. |
To have a high frame rate during simulations, we recommend a computer with a multicore CPU, 2 GB free disk space, at least 8 GB RAM, and Any NVIDIA graphics card with the latest available graphics card driver (with a CUDA compute capability of at least 5.0). GeForce strongly recommended (there might be performance issues with Quadro cards due to driver problems). For more detailed recommendations, contact us at lucidshape_support@synopsys.com.
When using LucidDrive, you can increase the graphics performance of your computer if you double the graphics cards, which means that you are using the . There are chipsets that allow more than two cards in a computer. For more detailed recommendations, contact us at lucidshape_support@synopsys.com.
For the GPUTrace feature, an NVIDIA graphic card is required (GeForce is recommended) with the latest available graphics card driver with CUDA compute capability of at least 5.0. We recommend using the latest NVIDIA graphics card driver available for your specific GPU card. The driver version number must be at least 455. If these requirements are not met, the software can freeze when you use GPUTrace, and you could lose any unsaved work.
You can estimate the performance by comparing the bandwidth and the number of CUDA cores available on the card.
LucidShape CAA 3D Textures Design Feature: A NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics card with a GeForce driver v560 or greater. At a minimum, the graphics card must have 4GB of memory, but 8GB is recommended. If you are simulating 3D Textures with one million texture elements, a high performance card (such as RTX A6000 with 48GB memory) is recommended.
